Marie Basso joined the Program in Linguistics as manager in November 2018. In this role, she works closely with the directorship to manage all aspects of program administration. Her responsibilities include management of program budgets and expenses; academic and curricular management in support of the faculty, postdocs, visitors, majors and minors; planning for the Program’s guest lecture series, conferences and workshops; and communications management and outreach.

Before joining Linguistics, Marie had worked in the Office of the Dean of the Faculty, supporting a wide variety of faculty-related processes, including searches and appointments. Prior to her coming to Princeton, Marie had served as a senior administrator in the Center for Biotechnology at Temple University, focusing on the recruitment and appointment of its international faculty and research staff. She had previously lived in Italy for several years, working at the University of Siena Medical School as an administrative coordinator for international scientific conferences and as an editor and translator of scientific manuscripts. Marie graduated from Haverford College magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, with a B.A. in English, and she is fluent in Italian.
