Back to "Fall 2020" courses

The course will introduce students to recent theories of instructed second language acquisition (ISLA) by way of critical reading and discussion, and to pedagogical practice in teaching languages by way of two service-learning projects: (1) one-on-one ESL tutorials with participants from the greater Princeton community, in collaboration with ProCES, during the semester; and (2) working alongside English teachers in the communities surrounding Princeton’s Mpala Research Centre in Kenya, on a subsidized trip during the 2021 WinterSession.
