Tore Nesset received his doctoral degree from the University of Oslo in 1997 and has since then taught at UiT The Arctic University of Norway, where he is a professor of Russian linguistics in the Department of Language and Culture. Professor Nesset’s research interests include corpus and cognitive linguistics which he applies to the study of Russian and Norwegian. He also works on historical linguistics and is the author of the widely used textbook How Russian Came to Be the Way It Is (2015).
