Byron Ahn (Ph.D., UCLA, 2015) began his role as an Assistant Professor of Linguistics in the Fall of 2016. He studies structural aspects of language in both syntax (phrasal/sentential structure) and prosody (rhythmic/melodic structure), as well as how the two interact.

He has published on a range of specific topics, including Tongan nominals, the typology of reflexivity, grammatical voice, and a structurally-based nuclear stress rule.  To learn more please see http://www.byronahn.com.
