Amelia Becker (M.A., Gallaudet University, 2015) joined Princeton as a Preceptor in Linguistics in 2021. She is currently conducting dissertation research as a student at Georgetown University. Her research focuses on the phonetics and phonology of American Sign Language. She is interested in how language use and substance shape signers’ mental grammars and enjoys teaching and advising linguistics students, both Deaf and hearing. For more information, visit
